Types of DNA Testing Services

  • Paternity Testing - Paternity testing is a scientific method used to determine whether a man is the biological father of a child. This test analyzes the DNA of the alleged father and the child to confirm or exclude a biological relationship.

  • Maternity Testing - Maternity testing, similar to paternity testing, is a DNA test used to confirm whether a woman is the biological mother of a child.

  • Avuncular Testing - Avuncular testing is a type of DNA test used to determine the biological relationship between a child and their potential aunt or uncle (the sibling of one of the child's parents).

  • Grand Parentage Testing - Grand parentage testing is a DNA test used to determine whether individuals are the biological grandparents of a child.

  • Sibling Testing - Sibling DNA testing is used to determine whether two or more individuals share one or both biological parents.

  • Early Gender Testing - Early gender DNA testing is a scientific procedure used to determine the gender of an unborn baby, typically as early as 6-10 weeks into the pregnancy. This testing analyzes fetal DNA present in the mother's blood to identify the baby's gender.

Purpose Of DNA Services

There are 2 purposes for Paternity Test.

  1. Peace Of Mind (Non-legal/Informational)
  2. Legal Purposes

  • Peace of Mind DNA tests, also known as non legal or  informational are used for personal knowledge  rather than legal purposes.

Typically, the sample collection is performed by a neutral third party at an accredited lab, home, place of business or location previously agreed upon. The process involves collecting cheek swab samples from the alleged father, mother, aunt/uncle, grand parent, sibling and child, and sending them to a laboratory for analysis.

Documentation:

The results are provided to the individuals involved but do not come with the legal documentation required for court cases or official purposes.

Reliability:

While Peace Of Mind paternity tests are accurate and reliable for determining biological relationships, they do not follow the chain of custody procedures necessary for legal validation.

  • Legal Purposes DNA tests are conducted for legal reasons, such as child custody, child support, inheritance claims, immigration cases, and other legal matters.

These tests must follow a strict chain of custody to ensure that the samples are collected, handled, and tested according to legal standards. Typically, the sample collection is performed by a neutral third party at an accredited lab, home, place of business or location previously agreed upon.  The identity of all parties involved is verified through photo identification and other documentation.

Documentation:

The results of legal paternity tests are accompanied by official documentation that can be used in court or other legal proceedings.

Reliability:

Legal paternity tests are highly reliable and recognized by courts and other legal entities due to their strict protocols and accurate results.
